Beale details 'busy' Rangers transfer talks as he shoots down Chris Willock rumour

Michael Beale has shot down transfer rumours linking Rangers with a move for QPR forward Chris Willock.

Reports this week suggested that the Ibrox club were interested in the 25-year-old, but the Gers manager says such stories are wide of the mark.

He said in his press conference today that there was “no truth” in the reports and he was also keen to “squash” the notion that Rangers will take advantage of QPR’s current financial situation.

Beale also confirmed that he has been “busy” with other targets as he looks to strengthen his team this summer.

He continued: “We are much clearer in the decisions we have to make this summer, we know the areas we need to improve and recruit. I think the progress has been made, there is a lot of harmony behind the scenes and I am really positive about the future.

“I've been busy, we've been working really hard on recruitment and are pleased with where things are going. My focus right now is purely on preparing the team for the weekend.

“The club infrastructure is really strong, compared to when I arrived first-time around at the club we are in a completely different place.”

Meanwhile, Michael Beale is playing the waiting game over the fitness of Connor Goldson and Ryan Kent.

The Gers boss added: "Goldson, Wright, Kent and Lowry all trained. We just need to see how they react now and assess after returning today to training.

"The centre-back position has been very unstable throughout the season with injuries. Connor (Goldson) is a big character for our team and always nice to have him back.

"Stability in key positions is key."The National:
