ORLANDO, Fla. _ Jeff Green didn't do much when he spent one of his 11 NBA seasons in Orlando during the 2015-16 season.
He made up for it a bit Friday night.
Green, now with the Washington Wizards, looked like an All-Star for the first three quarters, hitting 6 of 9 3-pointers, and he ended up scoring a season-high 24 points, his final basket the game-winner as the Magic lost their second straight game and fifth in their past six games, falling to the Wizards, 95-91, at Amway Center.
The Magic had their chances late, rallying behind an offensive surge from Terrence Ross, but a pair of turnovers inside the final 20 seconds spelled doom.
Ross ended up with 16 points while the Magic were led by Nikola Vucevic's 28 points, followed by Aaron Gordon at 22 points with 11 rebounds.
Bradley Beal had 27 points and hit 5 of 7 free throws as the Wizards blistered the nets from deep, shooting 56 percent from 3-point range (15 of 27). They were 35 of 79 overall for the game (44.3 percent).
The Magic went through two major droughts in the first half and dug themselves a 50-38 hole at halftime. The first drought saw them go four-and-a-half minutes without scoring as the Wizards turned a 29-26 deficit into a 35-29 lead during a 9-0 run.
Orlando scrambled back into the game and trailed just 38-35 with 3:35 left before halftime. D.J. Augustin's 3-pointer, however, was all Orlando could muster after that as Washington bolted out to a 50-38 halftime advantage, led by Green's 14 points on 4 of 6 3-point shooting.
