Beaches closed over possible shark sighting

Bar, Dixon and Merewether Beaches have been closed on Friday after reports of a possible shark sighting.

A surfer reported seeing something in the water that may have been a shark, so the beaches have been closed as a precaution with red flags installed.

The jet ski is currently doing a patrol to determine if there is a shark nearby and the beach will reopen once it is deemed safe to do so.
