Are you hoping to head to Portobello Beach this weekend but are concerned about accessibility issues? There will be specially-designed wheelchairs available to use.
Beach Wheelchairs is an Edinburgh-based charity that helps disabled people explore Portobello Beach and allow child and adult wheelchair users to venture onto the sand.
The charity, which was founded in North Berwick, expanded into Edinburgh last year and has helped make the seaside more accessible for hundreds of people.
Aware of the growing demand as the weather starts to heat up, they have announced open weekends - from April 20-21, the wheelchairs will be available to use from 10am until 4pm at Portobello beach.
