CHENNAI: Southern Railway has appealed to job aspirants not to fall prey to unauthorized advertisements and job racketeers who ‘offer’ railway jobs for money.
If a job aspirant is approached by anyone with promise of a railway job and demands money, a complaint should be lodged at the nearest police station and the aspirant should contact helpline number 044 28213185 for guidance and clarification, said a press release.
The recruitment process is through Railway Recruitment Boards, Railway Recruitment Cells only. Vacancies are filled after issuing Centralized Employment Notifications (CENs) and notifications about jobs that are circulated on social media should be verified from the websites of RRB. Railways does not appoint agents for recruitment.
There have been complaints that many youngsters are falling prey to these racketeers.
