Specifically, the advisory cautioned against the telecast of video footage and images related to the rescue operations, especially when placing cameras and equipment in close proximity to the site. Such actions were deemed to have the potential to negatively impact the ongoing rescue efforts. The advisory also discouraged channels from sensationalizing the issue and advised against live posts or videos taken in close proximity to the tunnel site.
Furthermore, the advisory stressed the importance of not disrupting or disturbing the life-saving activities conducted by various agencies involved in the rescue operations. It urged channels to exercise caution and sensitivity in their reporting, particularly when crafting headlines, sharing videos and images, and to consider the psychological well-being of the family members of the trapped workers and the general viewership.
In essence, the government's advisory aimed to ensure that media coverage of the Silkyara rescue operations remained respectful, responsible, and considerate of the sensitive nature of the situation.
