'Be scared' - Liverpool fans react to latest Virgil van Dijk update

Liverpool fans have taken to social media to share their delight at Virgil van Dijk's latest injury update as he has claimed he is ready to return in time for pre-season.

The Dutchman suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury in October's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, and was later ruled out of Euro 2020 as he decided to focus on his ongoing rehabilitation.

Liverpool well and truly felt the loss of their star centre-back last season, after an unprecedented injury crisis left them relying on Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams all to play a part at the heart of Klopp's defence.

However, on Friday afternoon the Liverpool defender took to social media to post a video update of his progress, one which sent Liverpool's fans into something of a frenzy on Twitter.

Given the nature of Van Dijk's injury and his age, it was vital that Liverpool managed his rehabilitation accordingly. And it looks like that is exactly what has been done given his optimism in his latest social media post.

Liverpool get their Premier League underway on Saturday 14 August away to Norwich City.
