'Be more Ewan' - Friends rally to support the grieving family of Ewan Brown

Friends of talented artist Ewan Brown are continuing to show their support to his devastated family.

The 27-year-old, from Spital Tongues, Newcastle, was last seen on Monday morning, and following a  massive search effort  a body was found in the  Ouseburn  area on Tuesday evening.

Ewan, who was profoundly deaf, was a talent film and music maker and touched hearts across the globe.

A stunning mural was unveiled in his memory after friends pulled together to celebrate the talented artist's life.

Brickwork on Mailing Street close to the Tyne Bar is now emblazoned Ewan's name and face, with friends saying the tribute was about writing his name into 'Newcastle History".

His devastated mum and dad,  Annette Ellis, 57, and Iain Brown, 60, and younger brother Axl, 19, spoke of their heartbreak saying "he was the best of men, truly loved and well remembered".

DWP tells dying man he's fit for work and has benefits cut

Now friends are rallying together to raise funds for Ewan's family to support them.

A friend wrote on the fundraising page: "Our amazing friend, Ewan Brown sadly passed away recently and we collectively as friends would like to show his family the support they deserve at such a difficult time.

"Be more Ewan."

Specialist teams focused their search in the  Sandyford and Jesmond Vale after Ewan was last seen there.

After Ewan went missing, posters were quickly fixed to signposts in the area appealing for information.

Friends said Ewan "brought a lot of people together" and that he was "always positive and never had a bad word to say about anybody".
