A Perthshire singer is set to be the voice of the UEFA Women’s Under 19Championship.
The Scottish FA has announced ‘Dreamers’ by Be Charlotte, who originally hails from Blairgowrie, as the official track of the 18th UEFA Women’s Under 19s Championship.
Scotland is set to host the tournament from July 16-28.
Football fans first heard Be Charlotte - real name Charlotte Brimmer - perform pre-match at the recent Scottish Women’s World Cup warm-up match against Jamaica on May 28 at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Charlotte, who is now based in Berlin, said: “It was an honour to play at Hampden Park and to have my song selected as the official track of the UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championship.
“There is such a feel-good factor around the women’s game and I cannot wait to hear the song being played out across stadiums before the matches.
“The tournament is a celebration of talented young women from many different countries and I hope that my song can help inspire some more people to dream big and pusue their own careers.”
Be Charlotte recently entertained the crowds in the Fair City by performing at last month’s Perth Festival of the Arts.
She has now been signed to record label Columbia/Sony Music, joining the likes of global superstars Adele and Beyonce.
Scott Galloway, tournament director, said: “We are delighted Charlotte is supporting the championship with this song.
“The inspiring lyrics really resonate with the hopes of all the players and the Scottish FA is very excited to release a song of such quality in support of the UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championship.”
Some of the group matches for the tournament will be held at McDiarmid Park in Perth.
Scotland’s first match will be against France on Tuesday, July 16, and reigning champions Spain will be aiming for a third title in a row.
