BDO expands north west team with 22 new trainees

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has expanded its team in the region by taking on 22 new trainee members of staff.

Ed Dwan, partner at BDO and head of north west, said the firm was “keen to build on its capabilities” after experiencing a strong year.

Five trainees are joining the firm as an apprentices, while 17 are joining as graduates where they will work across the tax and audit streams.

The trainees will work towards their level seven accountancy ot taxation apprenticeships at the firm alongside their professional qualifications, the firm said.

Mr Dwan said: “As well as a number of key lateral hires and promotions to support this growth, our focus is on taking on more apprentices alongside our graduates.

“This mix of minds – and diversity in every sense - is what our clients need from our teams to be able to solve complex problems and help them succeed.”

“One of the most rewarding parts of my role is working with the team on their development. This talent within this latest cohort of trainees shows the future of the firm is in good hands and I look forward to watching each of them progress.”

The new intake takes the number of trainees welcomed across the firm to 420.

The new hires come after the firm merged with Moore Stephens LLP in February.
