BBL stars pledge futures to Scorchers

The Perth Scorchers are in good shape for next season with four of their big-name stars staying on. (AAP)

After the disappointment of their BBL-final loss, Perth fans finally have something to cheer about with four of the competition's biggest stars pledging their futures to the Scorchers.

Jason Behrendorff, Josh Inglis, Ashton Turner and Andrew Tye, who all played crucial roles in Perth's surge to the final, will don the orange strip for a few more seasons in a boost to the franchise's bid for a record fourth BBL title.

Behrendorff, Turner and Tye have extended their contracts for two years, while Inglis will be in Perth for at least the next three seasons.

"It's great to have Ashton, Andrew, Jason and Josh re-committing to the club," said head coach Adam Voges.

"Each of them have played such a crucial role in the club's success over its history and we continued to see how influential they were during our recent BBL campaign."

Skipper Turner (84 matches) is poised to become the first Scorcher to play 100 matches for the club next summer.

Turner showed great leadership in steering the team from a winless first four matches to the final, earning both wide-spread praise and international selection.

He faced just 150 balls in the tournament but still plundered 228 runs, often at the death of the innings.

"Ashton has shown great leadership over the summer as captain and all four players bring a wealth of experience to the group and are highly valued members of the team.

"It's been an incredible tournament for the group this summer, and I'm extremely proud of their efforts and perseverance in turning our season around and overcoming adversity in a season like no other."

Paceman Behrendorff made his first appearance in 673 days when the Scorchers tackled the Melbourne Renegades in Hobart to open their season, and the quick has barely missed a beat since.

The left-armer enjoyed a remarkable comeback this summer after undergoing radical spinal surgery, playing 16 of 17 matches for the Scorchers this season.

He will form part of a three-pronged Perth pace attack alongside Tye and Jhye Richardson.

Tye, the club's all-time leading wicket-taker (93) snared 21 wickets this season and broke the 150kph-mark thanks to a remodelled bowling action.

The veteran picked up his pace but still delivered his trademark variation through the middle overs, finishing equal-fifth on the tournament's list of wicket-takers.

After a breakout BBL09 campaign that saw him named in the official Team of the Tournament, wicketkeeper Inglis was a revelation at his new No.4 position.

Inglis smashed 413 runs at an average of 34.41, including a sizzling unbeaten 72 off 41 deliveries against the Melbourne Renegades at Optus Stadium.
