BBL final winner Vince back at Sixers

James Vince, the Englishman who dominated the BBL finals earlier this year, will return to the Sydney Sixers for a fourth season.

Vince joins Tom Curran and Carlos Brathwaite as the defending champions' international signings for this summer's BBL.

England keeper Jos Buttler last week flagged being "open to saying no" regarding the Ashes, with he and teammates concerned about Australia's strict quarantine rules and uncertainty over whether their families will be cleared to travel.

But Vince, who was part of England's 2017-18 Ashes squad, is ready to sign up for another fortnight in hotel quarantine.

"What the Sixers have built on and off the field over the last few years is something really special and something I am proud to be part of," Vince said.

"To experience that final last season at the SCG, in what was our first trip back there all year, was something I'll never forget.

"How could you not want to come back for more of that?"

Vince hasn't played Test cricket since 2018 but could be in the mix to return to England's red-ball squad this summer, especially if senior players make themselves unavailable.

Earlier this year, the right-hander scored 98 in the Sixers' opening final and then 95 in the SCG season finale to help secure back-to-back titles.

The Sixers are slated to begin their tilt for a third-straight BBL title on December 5.
