BBC1 suffered a major technical problem this evening, meaning it went off air.
Viewers hoping to tune into Panaroma Can Biden Unite America were instead met with a red and white screen and a message "We are sorry for the break in this programme, we are trying to correct the fault."
The channel's problems started shortly after 7:30pm and the BBC announcer spoke to viewers saying they were hoping to get the programme on as soon as possible.
The announcer said: "Thanks for bearing with us, we are working hard to get our programmes back on air and as soon as we can we will have something for you to watch."
The announcer then said they would be playing Garden Rescue as a replacement for panaroma, before quickly doing a U-turn.
He said: "Sorry I made a mistake there, we can play Panaroma and here it is."
And viewers flooded social media following the outage, with many of them saying it was the typical thing to happen in 2020.
Katie Brown said: "BBC 1 trying to air a programme about Biden and they fall off air with major technical difficulties. Is Trump in the building?"
Debbie Clough said: "Howling at BBC1 tonight Panorama, nope gardening programme, nope Panorama, nope test card, nope Panorama EastEnders be on soon should have just put some music on instead # BBC1 technical problem."
