BBC Weather has issued a new 14-hour heavy rain warning for Liverpool.
Tomorrow, persistent heavy rain will affect parts of northwest England. The grim weather could cause flooding of homes, roads and businesses and interruption to power supplies and public transport.
It comes after the Met Office issued yellow weather warnings for rain across Merseyside which forecast around 50-60 mm of rainfall over higher ground.

The warning is in place from 6am until 8pm. It also covers Halton, Cheshire and Lancashire. The BBC said: "Tomorrow morning will be dull and wet, with persistent and heavy rain.
"Generally cloudy conditions in the afternoon, with further spells of showery rain moving in from the west. Turning windy again.
"Unsettled weather will continue from Wednesday through Friday. Low pressure systems approaching from the Atlantic will bring strong winds on Wednesday and Friday, and showery periods.
"The showers will be heavy at times, but there will also be a few bright spells in-between. Wednesday night into Thursday morning looks to have a drier interlude, with winds easing for a time."
