BBC Weather app predicts White Christmas for Falkirk district

A white Christmas is on the cards for Falkirk this year as forecasters warn of temperatures taking a chilly plunge next week.

The BBC Weather app is forecasting snow showers on Christmas morning.

Temperatures are also likely to struggle to get above freezing with highs of just 4C on the big day.

Frosty conditions are expected at night.

Scotland is expected to have its first white Christmas in six years this year.

Bookmakers have placed Aberdeen as the most likely city to see the white stuff on Christmas Day as the countdown to the festive period begins.

Punters are usually able to bet on whether there will be a white Christmas, which is defined by the Met Office as one snowflake falling within the 24 hours of December 25.
