BBC Weakest Link: Yvette Fielding's famous husband and Most Haunted controversy

Yvette Fielding is one of the biggest names in television thanks to her varied presenting career.

She's hosted Blue Peter, Most Haunted and appeared on the likes of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Through the Keyhole.

Yvette was born in Stockport on September 23 1968, making her 53-years-old.

Her first major appearance on TV was in 1983 when she was cast in BBC's Seaview as a teenage girl growing up in Blackpool.

But Yvette's big break came in 1987 when she became the youngest-ever presenter of Blue Peter at the age of 18.

This role saw her rise to fame, and she won the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on Television, beating Cilla Black, Victoria Wood and Kylie Minogue.

After five years of Blue Peter, Yvette went on to co-host Saturday morning children's show What's Up Doc? on ITV.

Moving away from children's TV, Yvette presented various shows including The Heaven and Earth Show, The General and City Hospital.

It was during her time at City Hospital, she met her husband Karl Beattie.

Yvette had previously been married to Barry Sweeny and the pair welcomed a son, Will.

But they later divorced and in 1999, Yvette married Karl and had a daughter Mary together.

Showing themselves to be a great team, Yvette and Karl created their own television production company, Antix Productions.

And they struck gold with their first production, Most Haunted.

The show sees Yvette and Karl, along with paranormal experts investigate haunted locations around Britain.

The popularity of Most Haunted on Living, led to ITV2 commissioning Ghosthunting With..., where Yvette would take celebrities to spooky buildings.

But Most Haunted wasn't without its controversy.

The show's medium, the late Derek Acorah, was reported to Ofcom in 2005, after appearing to be 'possessed' by an entity.

But Ofcom ruled in Most Haunted's favour, stating it is an entertainment show, not a legitimate investigation into the paranormal, and should not be taken seriously.

Yvette currently lives in Sandbach in a 17th Century house with her children and Karl.

She believes the house could be haunted after spotting some signs.

Yvette told the Daily Mail in 2009: "There are plenty of signs that we live in a haunted house. The kitchen chairs move by themselves, for example.

"Sometimes we go to bed and when we come down in the morning the chairs have been placed against the kitchen door and you have to push to get in."
