BBC viewers issue demand as Alison Hammond hosts BAFTAs 2023 ceremony

Viewers issued a demand after Alison Hammond fronted the BAFTAs.

The This Morning presenter co-hosted tonight's prestigious ceremony alongside Richard E Grant. The BAFTAs have traditionally been pre-recorded before they are edited and broadcast on BBC One.

However, there was a format change this year as the final four awards were broadcast live for the first time ever. Alison was backstage and chatted to a variety of stars to get their reaction to the ceremony at Royal Albert Hall.

She spoke to guests such as Martin Freeman, Austin Butler and Geri Halliwell Horner as she got the latest reaction to the glittering bash. Viewers following the show on Twitter praised Alison's presenting style and said she should return next year as the main host.

Ruby said: "Next year they need to give our girl Alison Hammond the main presenting gig! none of this co presenter nonsense."

Shaheen commented: "Can Richard & Alison host every year"

Corey tweeted: "This show needs more Alison Hammond"

However, other fans were jarred by the format change.

James said: "Love Alison but these interviews are just odd and definitely not needed."

Mary commented: "Well, for me that format just didn't work"

Roz tweeted: "I'd really love an Alison Hammond chat show. She'd be great at it. Not sure breaking up the #baftas with it is the right format, though."
