In honour of the couple’s 10-year wedding anniversary, the BBC will air a documentary about Prince William and Kate Middleton looking back on their historic day.
The documentary will feature many who were involved in the planning and were present at the event, including the florist, a composer and guests in attendance such as Sir Clive Woodward.
Having met while studying at St. Andrews University, William and Kate were married on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey.
The wedding of the royal couple was watched by 17.6 million people in the UK and 2 billion worldwide.
The BBC’s hour-long documentary, Royal Wedding: A Day to Remember, will be broadcast on 30 April, 10 years after their wedding.
In the documentary, contributors include Dr Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury who married the couple, and David Cameron who was Prime Minister at the time.
It also features the accounts of members of the public who travelled to London to witness the couple’s first kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
CEO of homeless charity Centrepoint, Seyi Obakin, was a guest at the wedding of the charity’s patron Prince William.
Obakin remarked: “You could just see in their faces the excitement of the day, but in his face, the pride that he’d come to this point, this position, in which he’s getting married to somebody that he truly loves.”
The special television programme will also reveal how, on the eve of the wedding, Prince Harry and William treated a group of friends to an impromptu walkabout.
In their 10 years of marriage, William and Kate have had three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
They have also carried out their royal duties, undertaking 50 patronages between them and raising awareness about issues such as mental health and conservation.
