BBC The Wheel fans say it's 'not fair' as player loses £45,000 before end of episode

Some fans of The Wheel were not happy as a contestant 'lost £45,000' near the end of the show.

Three players were attempting to win a life-changing jackpot as they took on The Wheel. To help, celebrity panellists Motsi Mabuse, Jon Richardson, Tom Skinner, Carol Vorderman, Joe Marler, Rav Wilding and Joanne McNally all offered their expertise.

The first contestant, Rhonda, easily cleared three categories off The Wheel before being shutdown. However, she was soon back on The Wheel and on her return answered another category correctly, earning £45,000.

But with just the business topic remaining on The Wheel, Rhonda was shutdown. Host Michael McIntyre said: "I can't believe this, you're off The Wheel, with only one category remaining we've lost Rhonda again.

"What terrible luck. I can't believe it." Instead, it was contestant Mark that cleared the wheel and won £48,000.

However, some fans felt Rhonda should have won the money. Pickle tweeted: "I really wanted Rhonda to win, she got that money in the bank. He’s answered one question right and wins 48k #TheWheel."

Rachael said: "Nah that ain't fair, Rhonda deserves to win!! #thewheel." Charli said: "If Rhonda doesn't win the money on the wheel then we are rioting tomorrow."

And Caroline said: "Aww I wanted Rhonda to open her animal sanctuary! #thewheel."

But other viewers disagreed, Claudette said: "Mark was amazing on tonight’s #TheWheel on @BBCOne." Jackie said: "I'm glad Mark won. Well done to him."

And Michelle tweeted: "Awwww so made up for Mark."
