BBC The Weakest Link: Jennie Bond's answer to WFH question has viewers tickled

The reboot of The Weakest Link hasn't impressed all viewers as comic Romesh Ranganathan takes over hosting duties from Anne Robinson.

The all-celebrity version has returned to BBC One screens this Christmas and really sparked into life for viewers during an episode featuring journalists, including Royal correspondent Jennie Bond.

She was asked the question on Tuesday's show (December 28) what three word phrase the abbreviation WFH usually stands for.

After asking Romesh to repeat the question, Jennie gave this as her answer: "What fish are you?!"

Of course, the answer is Working From Home.

After her fellow contestants voted her off as the weakest link, Romesh wondered what she thought people who were WFH did during the pandemic.

After Jennie said she hadn't heard the question properly, Romesh wondered what question she thought he had asked to which the answer would be 'what fish are you?'.

Viewers were quick to react.

On twitter, Alex at @djiarys said: "Jennie on The Weakest Link saying WFH stands for What fish are you. Ah, that tickled me."

While user Art Becomes You said: "Complete shambles today on The Weakest Link. WFH now means What fish are you???"

Other contestants on the show hoping to raise money for charity were Sarah Smith, Kay Burley, Keme Nzerem, Vanessa Feltz, Jennie Bond, Michelle Ackerley, Matt Allwright and Lucrezia Millarini.

Spoiler alert: the show was won by Matt Allwright, and in a congratulatory tweet, Jennie wrote: "We didn’t stand a chance against you…no matter what fish we were! Well done! Great knowledge..calm nerves! Xx"

While Romesh has many fans, some loyal fans of the Weakest Link have missed former hosts Anne Robinson's cutting style. While Romesh will make fun on contestants, it is a much more gentle approach.
