BBC The Trump Show 'angry' viewers beg 'please let it be over soon'

BBC Two tonight aired a look at Donald Trump's presidency over the four years he has been in office.

The documentary series tells the inside story of his controversial presidency, with contributions from insiders including Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Omarosa Manigault Newman, his former personal secretary Madeleine Westerhout and Anthony Scaramucci.

Tonight was the first instalment in the series, detailing the first 18 months of his residency at the White House.

Trump's first 24 hours in office sparked the largest single day protest in US history. His press team focused on the crowds at his inauguration, with the term "alternative facts" being coined live on air.

The documentary also revealed Trump's change of lifestyle as he moved into the White House, as well as his tense relationship with the press.

Staff claimed he "talked nonstop" about how he had beaten Hillary Clinton, while clips from various press conferences showed the President slamming the media and dubbing stories as "fake news".
