BBC The Traitors viewers stunned as Welsh contestant Amanda Lovett is banished after Wilfred betrayal

BBC The Traitors is coming to an end but Welsh contestant Amanda Lovett won't be in the final. The estate agent from Swansea had played a stunning game of deceit in the nail-biting competition after being hand-picked by Claudia Winkleman to become a traitor, however, the latest roundtable saw her fellow co-conspirator Wilfred turn on her, leading to her exit.

The show, which launched for the first time at the end of November has viewers hooked. It sees 22 strangers come together to take on missions and add money to a prize pot.

However, hidden amongst them are the traitors whose job it's to secretly murder a player every night, without getting caught. It's up to the others, the faithfuls, to try to detect who the traitors are, and banish them from the game before they become their next victims.

54-year-old Amanda was one of the original traitors, but was caught out just two episodes before the final despite previously never being suspected by her fellow co-stars. During episode nine Amanda turned on Theo after telling others he was her most trusted friend.

This led to Hannah, Meryl, and Kieran all questioning her and ultimately voting for her exit, however, it was Wilfred who planted the seed at the roundtable and it was his brutal vote that sealed the deal.

He said: "I'm really sorry Amanda, I put your name. The only reason is, I didn't really understand how you could turn on Theo. That was really difficult. If I've got it wrong, I'm really sorry."

Amanda seemed stunned by the betrayal and later told cameras: "I knew Wilf would throw me under the bus. He's avoided me all day, he hasn't come near me. He's totally in it for himself. He's going for gold, isn't he?"

Meanwhile, viewers at home were left both shocked and impressed by the move, especially as it isn't the first time Wilfred has betrayed a traitor. He previously threw Alyssa under the bus at the roundtable to throw suspicion off him.

"Sorry I love Wilf, this is what the show is about!!" wrote one. "Amanda nailed her coffin by voting Theo sadly. Give him all the money I say."

While another added: "Sorry but I am actually Team Wilf. The lad is playing a blinder."

And a third said: "Just gonna go against the grain. I liked Amanda and she played a good game but Wilf has played a blinder. If a traitor deserves to win its Wilf."

While a fourth added: "I thought Amanda would have sussed Wilf after throwing Alyssa to the wolves, but she didn't see it coming after all and that is a susprise. I now think Wilf has been masterminding all the murders."

"The whole Welsh nation in mourning for the Traitor Queen!" said a fifth. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
