The Responder creator has dedicated the final episode of his hit series to the memory of a close family relative.
Former Merseyside police officer Tony Schumacher created the BBC thriller - and based the show on his experiences working for the force.
The Liverpool-set thriller stars Martin Freeman as morally compromised urgent response office, Chris Carson, and debuted last week to widespread critical acclaim.

The five-part series reached its conclusion tonight - and the 55-year-old writer has taken to Twitter to dedicate the episode to his cousin, who sadly died today.
He said: "The last episode of #TheResponder tonight, and I'd like to dedicate it to my beautiful, funny, intelligent and caring cousin Joanne Schumacher who sadly passed away today.
"She was ace, and I'm going to miss her very very much."
Tony's followers flooded the comments to offer their condolences after his loss.
James said: "Aw no. Sorry for your loss Tony."
Elliott tweeted: "I'm so sorry for your loss Tony. Condolences to you and your family."
