BBC The One Show's Alex Jones take swipe at Alan Davies series

The One Show presenter Alex Jones took a cheeky swipe at comedian Alan Davies during his appearance on the famous green sofa on Thursday, March 30. It comes after the Welsh presenter appeared on the comedian's programme, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled.

Speaking about her experience on the Dave series, Alex said: "It was really good fun. I wasn't sure what to expect but the best way I can describe it is a mixture between a dinner party and going to see stand-up."

However, despite describing it as a dinner party Alex joked that she wasn't given any food on the show and teased that the wine was not up to standard. She said: "Oh my god, there is not even a snack. There is not even a peanut and the wine, don't even get me started! They haven't spent any budget on wine."

Laughing along, Alan said: "We nearly put a bowl of nuts out in the first series and then we did a sort of trial run and every time we went to someone..." and mimed a person talking with their mouth full.

Sharing some secrets about the programme, which sees the comedian join four guests for an unscripted and agenda-free conversation, Alan divulged what it was like to deal with those who are not great at storytelling.

He said: "I just move to the next person. Someone will tell a story, then they will stop, and I think 'is that it?' and you can't say 'is that it?' so I have to say, that is so funny!"

Describing the seroes after appearing on it, Alex said: "It's very intimate so you all go around telling different stories and chipping in really, and then at the end you decide a title." Alan was joined on the green sofa by Irish actress Siobhan McSweeney, who is best known for her role as Sister Michael in the hit Channel 4 series Derry Girls, who said she would "love" to go on Alan's show.
