BBC The Control Room trailer released as fans get first look at Glasgow drama

The first look at BBC drama The Control Room has been released, and eagle-eyed viewers may be able to spot some Glasgow locations in the Scotland-based show.

Filmed in Glasgow last year, the newest addition to the BBC's long list of exciting tales is set to be aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in July. In the trailer, Kelvingrove Art Gallery can be spotted as main character Gabriel (Iain De Caestecker) faces off with an unknown antagonist.

The show follows the life of Gabriel, an emergency call handler for the Strathclyde Ambulance Service in Glasgow. His life changes forever after what seems like an ordinary 999 call turns sinister.

The Scot receives a disturbing call in a life-or-death situation from a woman who appears to reveal she has murdered someone. As Gabe tries to get to the bottom of the situation, the woman suddenly questions, "Gabo, it that you?"

After making a rash decision to try and get to the bottom of the woman's identity, Gabe is questioned by his boss about the situation. As he claims innocence, things take a darker turn as he is chased by his past.

Before the show was filmed, Iain said of the script: "I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, so I'm thrilled to now be bringing it to life."

Other starring actors in this show include Joanna Vanderham as Sam, Sharon Rooney, Daniel Portman, Taj Atwal and Stuart Bowman. The programme is set to have people counting down the days till it's release.

The Control Room is set air in July on BBC One. It will also be made available for catch-up on BBC iPlayer.
