Sir David Jason is to reprise his Only Fools and Horses role of Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter in The Apprentice on Thursday, January 19. The 82-year-old actor, who played the character between 1981 and 2003, features as part of an animated skit with Lord Alan Sugar.
In this week's episode of the hit BBC reality show, teams are asked to create a new pre-school cartoon to pitch to industry experts. Explaining the challenge, an animated Lord Sugar meets with various famous TV faces including EastEnders' Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse and Jason back as Del Boy.
In the short skit, Del Boy meets with animated versions of Lord Sugar and Karren Brady, the latter of whom he flirts with by saying that 'Karren' is his "most favouritest name in the whole world". In true Del Boy fashion, he then tells Lord Sugar: "This time next year, we'll be millionaires."

Jason's cameo would be the first time that he's played the character since 2014, where he appeared in a Sport Relief sketch with Only Fools co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney Trotter) and David Beckham. The mini episode was, naturally, called 'Beckham in Peckham'.
Last December, Jason went on record to say that he was surprised by the shear success of Only Fools and Horses. He told BBC Breakfast: "There is no way on planet Earth that you would have thought in any possibility that would happen to me."
Written by John Sullivan, Only Fools and Horses tells the story of the Trotter family and their plight to become 'millionaires'. Dodgy dealer Del Boy and his brother Rodney, as well as a slew of other characters, tried various ways of getting rich throughout the show's 22-year run. Sullivan died in 2011.
