BBC Strictly winner Hamza Yassin's touching message to dance partner Jowita Przystal

BBC Strictly Come Dancing winner Hamza Yassin shared a touching message to his professional dance partner after the pair were crowned champions.

Hamza and Jowita Przystal beat Helen Skelton, Fleur East and Molly Rainford to the glitter ball trophy during Saturday night's final (December 17). After being announced as the winner, Hamza, 32 said: "It's hard to describe how I feel..." before turning to his dance partner. " I want to thank one person in particular... Jowita you are an angel disguised as a human being."

And he took to Instagram on Sunday (December 18) to further pay tribute to his Jowita, while expressing gratitude for his time of the BBC One dance competition. Posting a photo of himself and Jowita lifting the glitterball trophy, Hamza wrote out a lengthy caption.

He began by saying he was still trying to comprehend the win. He continued by thanking Jowita in a sweet message, writing: "As I said yesterday you are an angel disguised as a human being, a ray of sunshine!

"Thank you for your trust and guidance throughout this incredible journey. You shone a light for me that got me through some tough weeks and you have been by my side every step of the way. You will go on to do great things in your life. It was my pleasure to be your student. I will forever be grateful for how you have changed my life."

He went on to thank the Strictly team for the opportunity, as well as the judges and the British public. Hamza said: "To everyone who voted for us throughout the last 13 weeks, we could not have done it without you. Your support means the world to us. You are simply the best."

He also praised his Strictly classmates, adding that they are 'all winners' and hailing the start of a 'lifetime of friendships.' Hamza signed off with: "From the bottom of my heart thank you very much. Pigeon-toed Hamza. Xxx".

After three performances each during the final, and once all the scores had been given, Fleur and dance partner Vito received a total of 119 points while Helen and Gorka bagged 116 points.

Molly and Carlos received a total of 115 points, while Hazma Yassin and Jowita place bottom with 113 points. However, it was the public vote that ultimately decided who were crowned champions and who was given the winners title this year and despite their lower combined score on the night, that was Hamza and Jowita.

Upon being crowned winner, a tearful Hamza broke into tears as Jowita, who has won with her first-ever celebrity partner on the show, screamed and jumped up and down.
