BBC Strictly's Vito reveals his 'warning' to Fleur East ahead of their dance as he compares her to a 'saucy meat'

Fleur East was in stitches as she and dance partner Vito Coppolo revealed some inside gossip from their training for Strictly Come Dancing on spin-off show It Takes Two. There was a shock as Fleur and Vito landed in the bottom two on Sunday night's Strictly Come Dancing results show.

Ellie Taylor became the ninth contestant to leave the BBC dance contest as the comedian faced singer Fleur in the dreaded dance-off ahead of the quarter final. Both couples performed their routines again in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

Ellie and her dance partner Johannes Radebe performed their jive to Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison again. Then Fleur and Vito reprised their rumba to Too Lost in You by the Sugababes.

All four judges opted to save Fleur and Vito. But fans were stunned that Hits Radio presenter Fleur was in the bottom two after bringing in the first perfect score of 40 the previous weekend for her show-stopping Destiny's Child Megamix performance.

Viewers pointed out that this was the third time former X Factor star Fleur had been in the dance-off and questioned 'why' and 'how' it had happened. @paul_y94 tweeted: "Fleur being in the dance off for the third time is disgraceful. The British Public really ignore talent don’t they?"

The pair chatted on It Takes Two (BBC)

And as It Takes Two host Janette Manrara praised their dance she beamed: "It's all down to him. He was so mean all week. He was like 'straighter leg, straighter leg.'" And pro dancer Vito agreed that he had been strict, issuing his celeb dance partner with a warning as they worked hard at their routine.

"I said 'you are going to hate me, but on Saturday night you are going to smash it' and she did,'" he told Janette. "Oh yeah it was all worth it," confirmed Fleur.

Janette then asked the pair about using food analogies to help Fleur understand the dance moves. Asking Vito he would have compared Fleur on Saturday night, he said: "She was like a saucy meat." "Okay," laughed Fleur.

"Like half cooked," he continued. And Janette helped him out with the analogy suggesting "A medium rare steak." "Juicy," he agreed. And Janette told him: "We'll take that."

Fleur has previously shared how appearing on Strictly has affected her marriage for the good with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin. Speaking on The Graham Norton Show on Friday night, Fleur shared how she has experience the opposite experience of the so-called Strictly 'curse.'

She said: “The show’s been a blessing for my marriage, it’s been great. We’ve been together for 12 years and how often in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week, and get to do all these sexy dances in front of your husband? After the Argentine tango it was like we got married again! It was wonderful."

And as she spoke to Claudia Winkleman on Strictly, the co-host told her: "Vito and Marcelle are now texting all the time. You're slightly left out, not in a bad way, but are you occasionally like 'guys?'."

Fleur explained: "I was lying in bed with my husband the other night and he was laughing. I said 'what's going on?' And he said, 'oh Vito.." Looking at Italian dancer Vito, she added: "I was like 'why are you messaging my husband and not me?'"
