BBC Strictly's Giovanni Pernice spends Christmas holidays with co-star

Giovanni Pernice revealed he spent the festive season with one of his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.

Sharing several posts on Instagram, Giovanni could be seen with fellow pro Kai Widdrington in Italy.

The snaps show Kai at a Christmas light display in La Piazzetta, the main square in Portofino.

Giovanni posted the clips on Wednesday night.

Giovanni won the Glitterball Trophy this year with Rose Ayling Ellis, the deaf actress from BBC soap, EastEnders.

Kai, meanwhile, was paired up with AJ Odudu but failed to make the final due to pulling out through injury, reports BirminghamLive.

Johannes Radebe and John Whaite ended as runners up in the two-horse race finale, after Nancy and Rhys Stephenson were eliminated in the semi-final.

Kai and Giovanni are good pals and AJ joked during the series she had been replaced as the hunk's partner by the Italian.

Kai and Giovanni, 31, first revealed they were living together when they began sharing hilarious videos on Instagram during the lockdown.

This week, AJ returned to social media with a fresh tribute to Kai, who is the son of footballer Tommy.

She shared the touching message, as she wrote: “I loved watching @bbcstrictly Xmas Special & now I’m OBSESSED with the festive edit of our Waltz by @fayniandstitch.

“@kaiwidd’s waltz really is the gift that keeps on giving & I’m here for it.”
