BBC Strictly's Dan Walker issues heartfelt statement after newspaper front page

Dan Walker is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing and despite being one of the lowest-scoring contestants with the judges has avoided the dance-off and elimination from the show.

Now he has hit back a newspaper front page that says 'How is TV Dan still in show' and posted a heartfelt response saying just how much he is loving the show.

This is not the first time the BBC Breakfast presenter has hit back over his appearance in Strictly Come Dancing and he took to Instagram to issue his latest statement.

Dan Walker has responded to another newspaper report about Strictly Come Dancing (PA)

He said what a "true privilege" it was to be on the show, he said: "We are incredibly thankful for all the support and it's a true privilege to be a small part of the biggest show on the telly."

Dan went on to explain that although he might not be the best dancer that he is learning. He said: "When I've watched Strictly in the past I have always liked seeing great dancers but also those who learn to love it and are working hard to improve every week. It's a TV show and not the world championships."

He finished his response by simply asking viewers to enjoy the show, he said: "Whoever you vote for this weekend... I hope you enjoy the show. I will continue to do it with a massive smile on my face."

Many of Dan's celebrity pals, including Steph McGovern and fellow Strictly professional dancer Katya Jones, have commented giving Dan their support.

Steph said: "You're smashing it. Keep being you" with a red love heart.
