BBC Strictly row as Tess and Claudia announce another major change

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing flocked to Twitter to air their annoyance as another major change was announced for the BBC dance show. Viewers were already left appalled after the much-loved contest had to move to Friday and Saturday this week because of World Cup.

And Twitter went into meltdown again as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman revealed at the end of the results show that the schedule was being switched again because of the football. Instead of the traditional Saturday night live show followed by the results on Sunday, the semi final will go live next Sunday night with the results on Monday.

"We will be back next Sunday at 7.15 pm for our live semi final you won't want to miss it," said Tess. And viewers took to social media to complain.

@daveyballyXIIII said: "Bonkers just do the results show later on the Sunday night, we know the result show is prerecorded on the night, it makes no sense to show it on the Monday." And @Survivinthe20s fumed: "So stupid, why are they having the Semi on Sunday and results on Monday, just do it all on the Sunday FFS...."

@anthonyellis736 tweeted to the show's official account: "Just combine the main show and results show ffs." @picklehic asked: "Why can't the football move to BBC2 next Saturday so #Strictly can still be shown on Saturday. Just checked the schedule???????"

Fans weren't happy with the announcement (BBC)

@specialsciteach suggested: "1. They could put it on BBC2 or iPlayer on the usual day if they wanted to 2. The lateness complaint is on behalf of young children (like mine who is 5) who love to watch. It's the fact that there are plainly clear solutions that is annoying everyone!"

But @LadyA987 said: "Oh will everyone get over it. For 2 weeks out of 20 years it's been moved from a Saturday night. I don't like football either but there is worse things going on in the world than waiting an extra day for strictly. If its to late for some, watch it on catch up when you can."

The remaining five couples will take to the dancefloor next week for the semi final when Strictly Come Dancing will air live on Sunday December 10 at 7.15pm, with the results show on Monday December 11 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
