BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers left underwhelmed by dances to TV theme tunes

Strictly Come Dancing was celebrating 100 years of the BBC on Saturday, October 22, with the contestants dancing to theme tunes from famous shows. But many viewers were not impressed with it all and called for "normality" to return.

It seems they did not enjoy seeing the celebrities dance to BBC theme tunes which included Casualty, The Apprentice and EastEnders. You can read which celebrities were dancing to what theme tunes here.

Audiences took to Twitter to air their disappointment. One said: "God bless them, they're doing their best but this theme tune week is not great. #StrictlyComeDancing." Another added: "Even if the dancing is good, the theme tunes are spoiling it #StrictlyComeDancing."

A third said: "#Strictly is reminding me of a really bad school talent show tonight! Can’t wait for normality to resume next week! #StrictlyComeDancing" And: "Dancing to all these theme tunes is SO dumb #StrictlyComeDancing."

A fifth said: "This week's strictly with theme tunes really is summing up the UK at the moment. Completely cringeworthy #StrictlyComeDancing."

Helen Skeleton, whose theme was Blue Peter, and Hamza Yassin came joint first on the leader board after the judges' points with Tony Adams bringing up the bottom of the leader board with 19 points after his Cha Cha Cha to the Grandstand theme. Last week Matt Goss and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova left the competition after facing the dance-off against Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima. When asked by Tess about his time on the show, Matt, who danced a jive to All Shook Up, said: “It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years. Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways, my posture – Anton, I am more aware of it. This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys.”
