BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Katya made 'brutal' remark to Tony Adams after Shirley Ballas outburst

Strictly Come Dancing's Tony Adams and Katya Jones have continued to defy bookies' odds by staying on the show. The duo have consistently received low sores and have been near the bottom of the leader board since week one

On Saturday, Tony and Katya, like all of the other couples left on the show, had to perform a song to a theme from a famous BBC TV, to mark the broadcaster's 100th birthday. They danced a cha cha cha to the iconic Grandstand theme.

However, while the song was iconic, in the eyes of the judges, their performance was anything but, as Tony and Katya faced a wealth of poor feedback. When it came to their scores, ex Arsenal defender Tony took most exception to Shirley Ballas' measly 4, shouting: "Go home Shirley!" when he saw the number of her paddle, Chronicle Live reports.

Tony and Katya addressed their low score when they talked about their Halloween Week preparations on Thursday's It Takes Two. Talking specifically about how he reacts to the judges, Tony told host Janette Manrara: "When they started making comments I got a bit reactive. It is no disrespect to them it is just my way of going 'go away.' I'm a beginner and at times I don't do the right moves and stuff."

Now the former Arsenal and England captain has 'called out' his Strictly Come Dancing pro partner for the backstage remark after their performance.

Katya had remarked "we're back at the bottom," and now Tony has let slip what the former Strictly winner had said to him backstage, adding: "She said I got what I deserved. That’s what she said."

Looking taken aback, Jannette then turned to Katya and asked: "Is that what you told him?” The defiant pro Katya replied: "You’ve got to admit you did go wrong!" Tony then himself admitted she was probably right, commenting: "I did, I did. It’s fair enough," before, trying to dispel any awkwardness, Janette interjected: “She’s a tough cookie, Katya… But she’s only giving you tough love because she knows you can do it."
