Hamza Yassin has shown just why Strictly Come Dancing viewers have fallen in love with him as he was called to help at Elstree Studios where the BBC One show and its spin-off It Takes Two was filmed. The wildlife cameraman has been busy with partner Jowita Przystał preparing for the final.
The pair flew through the semi-final of the competition on Sunday night, coming top of the leaderboard following their two routines in the ballroom. Hamza received 39, the joint highest score of the night, for his Scottish-themed Charleston to Pencil Full Of Lead by Paolo Nutini with Jowita.
However, his second performance, a waltz to What The World Needs Now by Burt Bacharach, failed to strike the same chord with Shirley, despite a total score of 37, who noticed mistakes she has "never seen him make". But viewers got behind him and he safely made it through to the last week in the hit dance competition.
But Hamza and Jowita were the second couple to be told they had made it through to this Saturday's grand final of the 20th series, reducing the CBBC star to tears while an excited Jowita jumped in the air before grabbing her dance partner for an embrace. The pair join Helen Skeleton and Gorka Marquez, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Fleur East and Vito Coppola, who survived the last dance-off of the series during Monday night's results show.
And in a break from the training room, Polish dancer Jowita appeared emotional as she watched Hamza rescue a robin that had become trapped. She filmed Animal Park star Hamza as he held the bird in his hand while explaining to another phone what was going on before teaching them how to safely release a bird.
"So we are at It Takes Two and there was a little rescue this morning," Hamza says as he's seen standing in the doorway with the robin perched in his hand. "There's a robin that was stuck in a window and they managed to call me and we've got him and we're about to release him."
As he steps outside, he goes on to say: "Let me show you a little trick beforehand... One way of releasing birds, if you put the bird on their backs like this," while showing him moving the bird so it's in a fetal-like position. He then slowly stretched his hand out so the bird could be seen laying on his palm.
"They think you've still got them," he said before the robin flew away. Smiling at the camera, Hamza said: "That's how it's done," while Jowita could be heard awing in the background. She then shared the video to her Instagram Story alongside an emoji of a face holding back tears.
