BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Taylor admits Blackpool mistake after fans spotted apology to Johannes Radebe

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left both confused and concerned when Ellie Taylor came over all apologetic towards Johannes Radebe after their latest performance. The pair dazzled during the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night as they took to the floor of the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom with an American Smooth.

Comedian and actress Ellie looked elegant as she glided across the floor to Cilla Black's You're My World in a light pink ballgown while Johannes was suited and booted as he led his celebrity partner around the famous ballroom. But after being swept off up into the air on a shining prop, Ellie was back on the ground and in her partner's arms.

And the mum-of-one was overheard giving a very clear apology to Johannes, telling him: "Oh my god, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." However, she received positive comments from all four judges, along with some constructive criticism, and there was no mention of any mistakes that could have caused Ellie to be apologising.

It didn't stop viewers, however, wondering what had happened. @ElizabethCushw1 asked: "Why was Ellie repeatedly saying sorry to Johannes at the end of their dance then? #strictly." @maygrants tweeted: "NOOOOO THE WAY SHE WAS SAYING SORRY????????? save ellie forever #Strictly."

@ChristineCarr said: "Did I just hear Ellie say 'I’m so sorry' to Johannes there? #Strictly." @DeniseYNWAGGTTH replied: "I think she totally froze and forgot the routine right at the beginning. Was fine in Johannes arms." @tomfteach added: "Think so too. It happens. And if so, v impressed with both of them that she got through the rest of it well."

But Ellie has now finally cleared up what happened and it was a mistake neither Ellie or Johannes made - or expected. Speaking to Rylan Clark on Strictly's spin-off It Takes Two on Mondya night (November 21), Ellie said: "There was a bit of an audio issue at the beginning of the dance, those of us on the floor couldn't hear the cue. So the beginning of the dance didn't happen as it should have.

"I obviously thought if anyone has done something a bit weird it's me. I spent the whole dance going, 'I've done something wrong, what did I do, what did I do?'. At the end I said sorry, and it wasn't until the end when we left Claudia's area that Jojo was like no it wasn't you, we couldn't hear.

"When I heard that I thought I'm really proud how we came out of it. Being on live telly at Blackpool, not knowing where you are and what is happening, I don't think I've been more terrified in my whole life."

Ellie has also shared how there is a 'third person' in her partnership with Johannes. After making it through in Sunday's results show, Ellie took to Instagram with a photo of the pair in action as well as being captured in a candid, smiling moment backstage and said: "Errrrrrr WHAT??? Through to week flipping 10!!!!!??? Absolutely blindsided by the love people have shown us. Thank you for supporting our silly gorgeous partnership and this *brace for cliché* wild magical journey.

"I am so grateful to get another week to work really bloody hard with this wonderful man (and Bev the Tamagotchi of course - there are three people in this marriage now…)." Last week Ellie discovered that Johannes is still the proud owner of a Tamagotchi. Alongside a video of the South African dancer seeing to his virtual dependent, Ellie wrote on Instagram: "New Strictly highlight.

"In a taxi with @johannesradebe. A beeping sound comes from his pocket, at which point he says “oh, she’s awake” before casually pulling out a TAMAGOTCHI like it’s the most normal thing in the world. I haven’t laughed as hard ever in my life hahahahahaha. I LOVE HIM (and his pixelated child)."
