BBC Strictly Come Dancing flooded with criticism as fans fear major upset

Strictly Come Dancing was hit with criticism as fans were shocked by tonight's bottom two.

The celebrities performed routines to classic musical numbers on the latest edition of the popular dancing competition.

Sunday's episode featured the results of the public poll to say who was to be axed from the contest - and viewers were stunned to see that Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu found themselves in the dance-off.

Rhys and Nancy faced criticism for being ahead of the rhythm in his energetic jive to Footloose on yesterday's programme.

However, the CBBC presenter received a perfect score for his Charleston on last week's episode - and viewers were concerned Rhys was going to be unjustly punished.

Rhys was joined by McFly's Tom Fletcher in the bottom two and viewers on Twitter took to social media to blast the public vote.

Alice said: "If the judges kick Rhys off I’m calling Ofcom."

Oscar added: "Who is voting for Dan?! He is no way better than Rhys and Tom."

Bab said: "How can Rhys be in the dance off? Travesty."

Kendal commented: "Poor Rhys yet again doesn’t deserve to be in the bottom two, he’s a wonderful dancer and such a joy to watch. I don’t know what more people want from him…"

Bethany tweeted : "I’m sorry but how is Rhys in the dance off!? Fuming."

Gillian said: "I know Rhys’s jive was a bit stompy but doesn’t deserve to be in the bottom two! A travesty"

The upset was avoided for this week as three of the judges voted to save Rhys - meaning it was Tom who exited this week's episode.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBCOne
