BBC Strictly Come Dancing contestant confirms birth of twins

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Matt Di Angelo has welcomed twins with his wife Sophia.

The actor, who played Dean Wicks on EastEnders, took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce their birth. Posting an adorable snap of the twins, a girl and a boy, Matt said: "My beautiful wife @sophiaperry has had two happy and healthy babies and begun raising them.

"I'm in the kitchen trying to work out the steriliser. Welcome to the world Raphael & Daphne. My dynamic duo. 15/08/22."

His former EastEnders colleagues rushed to congratulate Matt on his happy news. Jacqueline Jossa said: "Twins. Congrats guys!! Love this xxx"

A second fan said: "You're going to be the BEST dad!!! What beautiful names." And a third added: "GORGEOUS! They are little angels. Congrats to you and Sophia."

Matt, 35, announced his wife Sophia was expecting twins in April. He told fans: "The lottery of life, still a fair way to go but we feel VERY blessed. The boys name will be JACK, and the girls will be POT."

Matt played Dean Wicks in EastEnders from 2006 to 2008 and returned in 2014 for a further two years. He also appeared on the 2007 of Strictly Come Dancing.

Matt was partnered with professional dancer Flavia Cacace. They dated for a short while before ending their relationship in 2008.
