The finale of Line of Duty series six pulled in huge viewing figures on Sunday evening.
Over 12 million people eagerly tuned in as AC-12 finally discovered who H was.
And despite an underwhelming response by viewers, many were left wondering whether the BBC cop drama would be back for another series.
Now, thanks to a tweet - which has since been deleted - fans could well have their answer.
TV presenter Giles Coren gave a huge indication that there will indeed be a seventh series.
He tweeted: "A friend of mine was cast in series 7 last week. There’s no secret."
But the tweet was quickly removed with the show's creator Jed Mercurio is yet to reveal whether he plans to pen a new script.
The actor who turned out to be H, Nigel Boyle, was also tight lipped on whether there will be another series.
Nigel, who plays Buckells, said "I honestly don’t know" when asked if there would be more episodes and went on to defend how series six ended.
He told BBC Breakfast on Monday: "The fans have been brilliant. So many people have invested so much in this series.
"I think there’s always going to be some element of disappointment but you can’t have every series with a big shoot-out, urgent exit required. Sometimes the subtler message is more important."
The drama's mammoth viewing figures were 1.8 million up on the show’s previously most-watched episode – the week before.
And the huge figures have led o Martin Compston admitting the show's main stars and creator will now permanently ink the number on their bodies.
Martin, who plays DS Steve Arnott took to Twitter to say himself, Jed, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar had made a pact to get the tattoo "AC-12million" if they reached those viewing figures.
Vicky, who plays DS Kate Fleming, has confirmed she will be getting the design, but it's currently unclear whether Ted Hastings' actor Adrian will take part.
