BBC shows pulled off air this weekend in HUGE shake-up - and fans are furious

A number of popular shows must make way for Glastonbury this weekend and it's not gone down well.

BBC bosses have pulled a number of shows off air as festival coverage takes over, with many timings also changed.

The traditional telly shake-up always splits viewers, with many thinking there's room for both across the corporation's various platforms.

This weekend, almost 200,000 people will make their way down to Worthy Farm to experience the unique atmosphere and millions will watch on from home.

But that means many programmes people know and love will have to make way.

The coverage of the festival begins at 7:30pm on Friday and the weekly edition of Gardener's World will not be broadcast.

Other beloved shows cut include Hidden Treasures of the National Trust.

There will be some movement too as the Great British Sewing Bee - usually shown after 5pm - now on TV at 2:35pm.

On Sunday, Searching for Italy and Flog it will be on earlier - so be on your guard if you love to tune in.

If going to festivals isn't your thing and with tickets selling out in an hour, the next best place is in front of the TV.

Headliners and highlights will be available for everyone to enjoy on BBC One, Two, Three and Four.

The BBC has said that "there will be more sets on BBC One than ever before" with coverage being led by Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders and Jo Whiley.

BBC Two will also be broadcasting a selection of new programmes in the lead-up to the festival, including We Love Glastonbury and Glastonbury Anthems, and an updated version of Glastonbury: 50 Years And Counting.

In the lead-up to the event, festival fans can watch the farm come to life on the Glasto-Cam on iPlayer.

The webcam launched as a live stream on Monday and will be available until Sunday, offering an aerial view of Worthy Farm from sunrise to sunset, accompanied by BBC Sounds music mixes.

BBC Radio and BBC Sounds will be bringing you a wide range of Glasto content, starting on Wednesday.

Craig Charles, Dermot O’Leary, Pete Tong, Vick Hope, Jordan North, Lauren Laverne, and Zoe Ball will also be live and direct from Somerset.
