The BBC has sold Adele’s upcoming one-off special, which will see the Rolling in the Deep singer perform on TV for the first time in more than two years, to more than a dozen countries from Norway to New Zealand.
The BBC1 special, which will be hosted by Graham Norton, is set to air in the UK on 20 November.
The hour-long show, called Adele – Live at the BBC, will see the singer perform many of her classics as well as songs from her new album 25.
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, has sold the show to 13 countries including France, Australia, Belgium, Spain, Canada and Italy.
The special, which has been renamed for international audiences as Adele – Live in London, will be the singer’s first TV appearance since the 85th Academy Awards in February 2013 where she performed Skyfall and won best original song.
“We’re thrilled to be able to work with Adele and the BBC to bring this extraordinary piece of prime time television to a global audience,” said Salim Mukaddam, director of music at BBC Worldwide.
