BBC's The Real Michael Jackson documentary divides fans as some brand it 'bull****'

The latest documentary into Michael Jackson's life, which aired on BBC Two this evening, has left viewers firmly divided.

Titled The Real Michael Jackson, the feature length one-off documentary follows Jacques Peretti as he traces the musician's rise and fall in the showbiz and music world.

Some of the viewers that tuned in to this evening's episode were riled by the documentary and it's alleged attempts to 'defame' Michael Jackson yet again.

"Don't waste your time with that bulls**t documentary on BBC2 tonight about MJ," one viewer began in a Tweet.

"He's been dead nearly 11 years and these lynch mobbers refuse to leave him alone, always trying to make money defaming his name & selling lies - Patheic a** wipes. I know who #TheRealMichaelJackson was."

Another angry viewer expressed similar sentiments: "THIS is the real Michael Jackson. F*** BBC."

Others dubbed the documentary as 'biased' and urged that producers leave the late star alone.

"I do not defend Michael Jackson because he is my favourite artist or because he was a great dancer. I defend him because he was the victim of a modern day witch hunt fueled by greed, jealousy and racism. I defend him because of this: #SquareOneMJ #TheRealMichaelJackson."

On the contrary, other viewers expressed their surprise that some chose to defend Michael despite the allegations made against him.

"I find it hard to believe that there are people out there who still defend the multi-millionaire child abuser Michael Jackson. #TheRealMichaelJackson," wrote one.

"Can't believe people still don't think Michael Jackson was a peadophile when so many people accused him of it. Boggles the mind #therealmichaeljackson," explained another.

In 2005, Michael Jackson was acquitted of 10 felony counts, including four counts of child molestation and one of attempted child molestation.

Following his death in 2009, however, the controversy surrounding his relationship with young boys remained and was pushed back into the spotlight with controversial Channel 4 documentary Leaving Neverland.
