BBC's The One Show spotted filming on quiet north Leeds street

BBC camera crews were spotted in Leeds this morning (Wednesday) filming on a quiet residential street.

Local residents on Wensley Drive, Meanwood, were left shocked when they opened their curtains to find a state-of-the-art TV camera stationed outside a property on the street.

Nigel Whiting is among those who lives in the area and he told LeedsLive it caused a bit of commotion.

He said: "It was good to see the film crew setting up the cameras.

"All the neighbours came together, bringing their chairs and cups of tea out with them [to see what was happening]."

Nigel said the crews were there to film a feature for BBC's The One Show, with the picture above showing a small group of people sitting in camping chairs outside a house.

It is not yet known exactly why the crews were there and what the feature will be.

However, eagle-eyed viewers will no doubt be tuned in to BBC One in the coming days to find out why this secluded street tucked away in north Leeds is taking centre stage.
