BBC Scotland has come under criticism from the public for their handling of an interview with National Clinical Director Jason Leitch.
The professor appeared on BBC's The Nine last night to talk about Scotland's new coronavirus restrictions, where many viewers believe he was subjected to "rude" and "aggressive" questioning.
Mr Leitch was interviewed by a BBC journalist who was branded "unprofessional" by some after the exchange.
Mr Leitch wasn't able to provide exact statistics associated with the COVID risk in the hospitality industry.
The journalist went on to say the Scottish Government was spreading "a mixed message" with their new household rules and that many people thought the new hospitality restrictions were going to be a "disaster."
Many people took to social media to slam the interview with one person writing:
"That was a disgusting interview with Jason Leitch... so rude and continually trying to get him to say what you wanted him to say. Not good reporting."
Another person added: "After last night sh** show a lot more will #BBCswitchoff the interview with Jason Leitch was disgraceful and soooo aggressive it was appalling.
"An apology should be made to Jason because of her disgraceful disgusting attitude towards him. #shameful."
But a BBC Scotland spokesperson said: "We would urge people to watch the interview again in full if they can as Rebecca was perfectly fair and polite with her questioning which focused on concerns from the hospitality sector, as was Professor Leitch in his responses.
"Viewers expect us to seek as much clarity as possible during these unprecedented times.”
Another agreed saying: "Isn't is just bloody ridiculous @BBCScotlandNews that Jason Leitch is trending because your interviews by different people, have been unbelievably aggressive and shouty to him??? No one can understand it."

Scottish TV star Colin McCredie also didn't enjoy the 'rude' style of interview, writing: "Had to turn of this @BBCScotland news interview with @jasonleitch - Horrible, rude & aggressive questioning. What was that all about??"
