BBC's Strictly fans spot clue Shirley Ballas is trying to help one star win

Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced Shirley Ballas is desperate for Fleur East to win.

Fans tuning into the BBC show final were left fuming when they realised Shirley had been giving Fleur a masterclass ahead of the final, whilst other celebrities like Hamza Yassin and Helen Skelton didn't receive the same. Angry fans took to Twitter to fume over the 'favouritism' as they slammed Shirley for only doing this for certain stars and not others.

The final sees four contestants take on three dances in a bid to be crowned the winner of the BBC show this time around.

One wrote: "Shirley giving Fleur a demo where no one else does clearly who she wants to do well tonight lol #StrictlyComeDancing."

" #Strictly so how come Fleur and Mollie get dance tips from Shirley and Hamza didn't #SCD," a second penned, whilst a third added as they gave their verdict on social media: "Shirley pushing for Fleur to win ? #Strictly."

Following the dance, Shirley heaped praise on the routine and said Fleur was better than many professionals she knew. As a result, Fleur was given a total score of 40 out of 40, including a 10 from Craig Revel Horwood who gave it a nine last time.

Fans felt it was unfair (BBC)

Earlier in the series, head Judge Shirley Ballas fought a tirade of abuse, with angry fans unfairly claiming she was "sexist" in her marking and even calling for her to be sacked when she said she would have saved Richie Anderson instead of Fleur in the dance-off.

Fleur said at the time: "It was a rough Sunday night. It was horrible, it was bittersweet. The judges chose to save me but it was the worst feeling ever. Yet I’m alive, I’m still standing, I survived. Oh my goodness, I couldn’t believe [the Twitter abuse towards Shirley].

"There’s a lot of heat in the cha cha chat room. And I think it’s really unfair, actually. I have the utmost respect for all the judges. But Shirley...if you’ve not seen her dance, she’s incredible. So, any time I stand there I’m like ‘Just give me the notes, what do I have to do?'"

She added: "I’m here to learn, so I’m going to take the criticism and do better next time."
