BBC's Nick Robinson asks what to watch on Netflix as he self-isolates after being tested for coronavirus

BBC 's Nick Robinson is self-isolating whilst awaiting the results of being tested for coronavirus.

As the 56-year-old from Macclesfield will spend two days at home, he asked his online followers how he should spend his time - including whether to watch the Irishman on Netflix .

The Today programme presenter returned from holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia and was tested on Tuesday night over fears he may have been exposed to the new virus.

He is staying at home for the 48 hours as a precautionary measure on the advice from his doctor.

In a heartfelt message to Twitter, he made an acknowledgment to the work of NHS staff 'keeping us safe'.

"Routine precautionary check on doctors advice. Hope for all clear within 48 hours".

On a lighter note, he added: "Two days self isolation at home. What to watch/read ? The Irishman? United beating Watford ? Democratic debate ? Any other thoughts. Need light relief after reading brilliant but harrowing books about. Vietnam War & Killing Fields".

Meanwhile, Channel 4 News presenter, Jon Snow, is also self-isolating as a precaution against coronavirus after spending some time in Iran.

He visited the country to cover their election, and is therefore now staying indoors for the next two weeks - although he has no symptoms.

The head of Iran’s virus task force tested positive for the illness on Tuesday amid rising cases of Covid-19 in the country.
