BBC's I Can See Your Voice leaves viewers lost for words and confused over 'channel hopping' stars

Viewers were left lost for words and thinking they'd tuned into the wrong channel on Saturday night as I Can See Your Voice kicked off on BBC1, with the new show immediately dividing opinion.

After programming on Friday was altered significantly following the death of Prince Phillip, BBC shows went ahead as planned from Saturday afternoon and following the likes of Pointless Celebrities and the return of The Hit List, I Can See Your Voice made its debut.

Just like ITV smash The Masked Singer, the show has already proved a big hit over the other side of the Atlantic and involves a celebrity panel helping members of the public to work out who is an actual singer and who isn't from an array of disguised performers, who each have their own clues and are given a chance to perform.

Like The Masked Singer's "take it off, take it off!" I Can See Your Voice quickly established its own catchphrase - "LET'S... HEAR... YOUR... VOICE!"

And those performances were done in absolutely hilarious fashion with rather painful but highly entertaining renditions of the likes of Ride on Time and We Found Love.

The panel in action on Saturday included Amanda Holden, Alison Hammond and Jimmy Carr and the fact BGT judge Amanda and This Morning star Alison were on the programme and Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuiness was on hosting duties, left some viewers thinking they were watching an ITV show, not one on BBC1.

One viewer ranted: "I Can See Your Voice is a quite shameless attempt to do a BBC format similar to The Masked Singer, complete with VTs of the singers where they have their voices distorted.

"This is probably one of the grimmest Saturday night light entertainment line-ups in recent memory."

The same viewer also posted "They've literally promoted I Can See Your Voice as a reverse The Voice. It is more of a deeply c**p attempt to try to do a BBC version of The Masked Singer."

However, others, while struggling to get to grips with what they were watching, were instantly hooked, just as some were with Game of Talents over on ITV.

One tweeted: "This I can see your voice is bloody brilliant, I am absolutely crying here ahahhahaha," and another reacting: "Omg I Can See Your Voice has me in hysterics"
