BBC's 'Ghosts' is back with a fourth series

The smash-hit, widely-adored, totally-nonsense sitcom 'Ghosts' will be making its long-anticipated return to our screen for a fourth series, and we can't wait!

Brought to you by the creators of 'Yonderland' and 'Bill', this uproarious and down-right unpredictable comedy series will continue to star the cast of 'Horrible Histories'.

With filming set to commence in the New Year, the fourth instalment will once again follow the mischief and misbehaviour of a collection of spirits from different historical periods that haunt a country house, which has recently been bought by an innocent couple, the girlfriend (Charlotte Ritchie - 'Call the Midwife', 'Fresh Meat') of which is the only unfortunate soul that can see them!

But will Alison and Mike FINALLY be able to make a success of their humble B&B, or will the pestering and chaotic ghosts once again scupper their plans?

The third instalment of the BAFTA-nominated series launched this summer accumulating 4.3million viewers for the first episode - the biggest audience of the regular series to date, as well as the biggest audience for a comedy among 4 to 15-year-olds in 2021 so far, thus cementing the show as a firm family favourite.

Simon Farnaby as dead politician, Julian (BBC/Monumental Television/Guido Mandozzi)

'Horrible Histories' icons and the writers of the series, Matthew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond and Katy Wix can't wait to reprise their roles as the troublesome apparitions for the upcoming season.

The group has said: "We are thrilled to be returning to Button House for a fourth series. We are already working on new stories and can’t wait to share the next chapter."

All previous episodes of Ghosts are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
