BBC's Andrew Neil 'left looking like Yoda' because of baffling earpiece

The BBC's Andrew Neil has been likened to Star Wars Jedi master Yoda after his appearance on tonight's general election coverage.

This isn't simply because he's seen as a wise man of politics - but bizarrely because of his left ear.

The veteran interviewer - who Boris Johnson famously refused to sit down with before the country went to the polls - appeared to have an issue with his earpiece.

It left him with a pointed ear directed at the camera.

It wasn't long before people were commenting on the unusual scene on social media.

One wrote: "Andrew Neil's ear piece is making him look like Yoda."

Another posted: "I was having nightmares at that bent over ear."

Throughout the campaign Mr Neil sat down with party leaders and gave them public grillings - except for the Prime Minister.

A joint Sky/BBC/ITV poll forecast Boris Johnson is on course to win an overall majority of 86 in the House of Commons.

This will be the biggest victory for the party since Margaret Thatcher's in 1987.

According to the exit poll, the Tories could return 368 MPs to Westminster, with 191 for Labour .

The SNP were tipped to win 55 seats, Lib Dems 13 seats, Plaid Cymru 3, Greens one seat and others 19.
