BBC rubbish Celtic bias claims as they respond to Hearts fans' Scottish Cup Final suggestions

The BBC have rubbished suggestions they were biased towards Celtic during the Scottish Cup Final.

Hearts fans were fizzing by the coverage and felt the commentary team of Liam McLeod and Billy Dodds were leaning towards the Glasgow giants.

But the broadcaster insist their coverage was balanced and there was no leaning towards the Hoops during the 3-3 draw, which Celtic then won on penalties.

The Hoops had been 2-0 thanks to goals from Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard before a second half fightback from Hearts took it to extra time.

Leigh Griffiths put Celtic back in front before Josh Ginnelly got another equaliser but Tynecastle supporters regularly blasted the coverage on BBC Scotland.

The broadcaster disagreed and strongly defended their coverage with a spokesperson told the Daily Record: "Our extensive live coverage of this exciting final was fair to both sides."

Neil Lennon's men clinched the trophy with a 4-3 penalty win after Stephen Kinglsey and Craig Wighton both missed for Hearts.

Robbie Neilson's side impressed during the Hampden showdown and were handed the advantage when Craig Gordon saved from Ryan Christie.

But they couldn't take advantage and Conor Hazard made two saves for the Glasgow side to win the match.
