BBC reporter cuts himself moments before going live in unfortunate mishap

The beauty of live TV is that anything can happen - and for one BBC reporter that's exactly what happened.

BBC Business Editor Simon Jack "bled his way through a two way [interview]" after an unfortunate mishap.

Reporting on the 1pm bulletin, Simon had rushed to look presentable before going on live TV.

However, he cut himself on a cheap razor and the blood started flowing.

Viewers were reduced to laughter as he tried to cover up his shaving injury with a tissue as he joined the newsroom, reports Devon Live.

But, inevitably, the gush of blood repeatedly trickled down his face as he attempted to report on the troubled Flybe airline live from Exeter Airport.

As soon as his spot on national television had finished, he tweeted: "The perils of shaving with a cheap razor before doing a live. Bled my way through a 2 way on the one o clock news. [sic]"

Twitter users were quick to notice, and joked that it became suspenseful viewing.

@lindsayvoss6 said: "Top TV! The suspense was enormous - will the drop turn into a drip, or even a stream?"

@fromHKY said she was 'on the edge of her seat'.

@156sharknose reassured Simon, saying: "It looked like a bad one. We've all been there... perhaps without the national audience."

Fellow television reporter @HannahMcITV said Simon "handled it brilliantly!"

@AlanChand added: "I didn’t notice. I was too busy admiring your gorgeous pale blue shirt."
